An abstract series. Light on surfaces, texture, negative space — the New England coastline reduced to its quietest parts.
First Light — Rhode Island Sound
most of the frame is empty because most of the morning is. before the phone, before the list, before the day asks anything of you. the light does not hurry. i am trying to learn from it.
Fog — Watch Hill
fog is the honest weather. it admits you cannot see the whole thing. i find it easier to believe in what is out there when the horizon refuses to resolve. the not-knowing is not a problem to solve. it is the point.
Dusk — The Breakwater
the day spending its last light on the water and asking nothing back. dusk is the one hour that cannot be optimized. you either stand in it or you miss it. i am trying, more often, to stand in it.
